Am I Happy
Most lives are consumed with mindless pastimes. Most people sleepwalk through their days, years, life. The majority of the population is not happy. They might have moments of happy, but most of their days are overshadowed by “down days” or “bah days.”
An Active Approach to Being Happy
Step one
The first step toward happiness is self awareness and self examination. With the Am I Happy App, you record moments that you felt happy and what was happening internally or externally when those moments were felt.
Step two
The second step is to define your version of happy. It could be peaceful, contentment, or living passionately. As a behavioral coach, I ask clients, “When are you happy? What contributes to your being happy, content, and peaceful? How often do you actually experience this?”
For some, these questions are difficult.
Think back to a time when you were happy. Visualize what could give you those positive thoughts and vibes again. Change does not happen overnight. Yet, having a tool like the Am I Happy App would be a beginning to self awareness of your moods, thoughts, and, triggers. It gives a person one place to record information to reflect back upon. “When I did … I felt my spirits lift. I felt better.”
How Does Am I Happy Help?
The Am I Happy App is a way of journaling. It encourages you to start thinking positive and recalling positive times. It is a reminder of the factors that supported positive thinking and happy times. Reflecting back over months or years of better times can provide inspiration for the present day and hope for the future.
The information gained from the app can help you discover negative habits and patterns that are preventing you from pursuing your path to happiness. Psychological, physical, and emotional patterns can be changed. As you are identifying problematic habits and determining the changes that need made, the app will help reinforce those changes.
